3. The proportion of CT lesions in the whole lung
The probability of having severe or critical illness is
0~10%,low risk 10%~40%,moderate risk >40%,high risk
*Clinical classification
(1)Asymptomatic
The absence of clinical symptoms with a positive nucleic acid test (real-time reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction assay, RT-PCR, for SARS-CoV-2).
(2)Mild
The presence of mild clinical symptoms without respiratory distress and the absence of imaging manifestations of pneumonia.
(3)Moderate
The presence of fever, with respiratory symptoms and imaging manifestations of pneumonia.
(4)Severe
Meets one of the following:
1) Respiratory distress, a respiratory rate ≥30 breaths/min
2) Oxygen saturation (SpO2) ≤93%
3) Arterial blood oxygen partial pressure (PaO2)/fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) ≤300 mmHg (1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa).
(5)Critical
Meets one of the following:
1) Respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation
2) Shock
3) Combined organ failure requiring intensive care unit (ICU) monitoring and treatment
Notes: The data of this prediction model was derived from novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in Jiangsu province, and the prediction of the patients' development into a severe or critically ill patients was made according to the common clinical indicators of the patients on admission.
